Old Frederick is completed – (Stopmotion film)

Frederick from DANNI HE on Vimeo.

Come check out our group’s stopmotion short film. i must say the process was intense. But oh so rewarding. We wanted to experiment with green screens, did frame by frames, used all kinds of software… OH it was a beautiful nightmare. Staying overnight in the suites, or until the sun rises… You know all these nig-nags and hard work do pay off, believe me. Anyways I hope ya’ll enjoy this film:)) Cause I did, i will admit we could produce better work but we’ll need more practice! Practice makes perfect:)) Bye FilmTV1<3

Photography Stills for Film

Photography Stills for Film

Photography Stills for Film

Caught these three girls in the edit suites and they’re currently doing media, specialising in radio:)

My point in this post: Photography Stills!

I guess I never realised the importance of photography stills until I started to edit the darn film:((((

We had a few scenes where our boom could be seen on the desktop but it was not visible on the z7’s screen. This seriously is causing us a huge pain and my definite take home point? TAKE SOME AWESOME STILLS! especially for the backgrounds and whatever production design? It’s always good to grab stills just in case (if necessary), needed in emergencies. Thank God we could edit ours a tad? But it’s still pretty obvious to my group members and II. Cross our fingers no one will notice:) HAHA.

Here are some other reasons why you should ALWAYS ALWAYS TAKE STILLS.

Film production stills represent photographs that are taken during the course of preparing and filming a specific movie. The use of still photography remains an integral part of the process of producing, distributing and marketing a film.

Scene Continuity

One of the jobs normally overlooked is keeping track of the production sets, clothing, jewelry, and general placement of items on the set. These photos are used for scene continuity.
The still photographs which were taken during the process of a day’s film shoot are used by the director and his production staff to make sure that each subsequent day’s scene layout and props would match exactly with the prior day’s scene. This is to avoid mishaps such as appearing and disappearing salt shakers, curtains changing color, tables and chairs in different places, etc.

Publicity

Still Photographs are responsible for generating early publicity about a film, including providing information to magazines and publications. In addition, they are responsible for providing the advertising department with information necessary to create the film’s promotional materials. Professional Movie Stills are a must for Social Networking Sites.

Creation of Posters

A skilled Still Photographer will capture the important elements of the film, during the process of a scene, behind the scenes, or staged promotional stills with the cast, to produce a single photo that will be used to best communicate the film on a poster (as well as DVD art)
